2290 rejected at IRS? IRS delays in getting the EIN information?

Express Truck Tax? If so, I've used them twice so far. Whole process takes two minutes and costs like ten bucks.

 

Yes usually you can do it on those sites and it takes no time. But currently there is an issue with IRS that isn't allowing it to go thru for a 2290. We've tried 1 of those sites, a business who does this daily, and calling the IRS and right now nothing will work except waiting.

 

We originally got the EIN on Sept 20th so we are well past 25 business days and still be rejected.

 

@twarrener just an FYI our 2290 got processed finally today so I'd check yours.

 

When it gets rejected, does its say that its a "Name Control" issue?

 

If you have a new EIN, you can call and set up an appointment at your local IRS office, they can process and have you a stamped 2290 in about 15 minutes.

 

The IRs has sent an update to the electronic filing providers that there was a technical glitch which was identified and fixed. IRS were able to process the 2290' for new EIN that is 15 days old now...

 

There was an issue with Business Rule R0000-922-01 so the IRS erroneously rejecting newly applied for Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) that were assigned on or after September 17, 2021.

Now that has been fixed through and all the new EINs filled for 2290 with the IRS is getting accepted if it is 15 days old.

If in case the returns were rejected for name control, then try retransmitting now and it should go through.
