Depends on chain and binder size.

Personally I would do 3. 1 straight through or very slightly back depending on tiedown points and 2 more pulling forward and back connecting right in line with the 4x4s under it.kylefitzy, cke, singlescrewshaker and 6 others Thank this. -

If your chains are rated 5000 lbs, 4 satisfies DOT requirements, 5 gives you peace of mind. Me personally, I would put 5.

3/8 G70 is 6600lbs WLL per chain which he said he was using above. Only need enough for 1/2 the weight in WLL. 2 chains gets him to 13,200 lbs WLL. A 22,000 lbs coil would need at least 11,000 lbs WLL so he's legal with 2.
If he was using 5/16 G70 they are good for 4700 lbs so he only needs 3 to be legal. That would get him to 14,100 lbs WLL of the 11,000 he needs.Bean Jr., ElmerFudpucker, YardMule89 and 5 others Thank this. -
This might help you in the future...
