    Hey Guys
Just got a truck and trailer for our business. We do not go out very much… maybe 6-8 days a month. All of them are only a couple hours max.

my question is we have 1 trip in the fall and 1 trip in the spring where the trip is 23~hours each way. We don’t drive before that day and we will stay at that destination for a week when we get there. Wondering what the best driver schedule would be without driving 12/12. Thanks

Assuming the truck has a sleeper they could just run it the way that suits them best and make it look legal on paper.

Does truck have sleeper ? If not you could drive 10 hrs, stay in hotel, drive the balance the next day.

isn't that kind of hard on the horses? shouldn't you be stopping a number of times to care for them?

    Now you figure it out?

11 hours of drive time, one sleeps (IN THE SLEEPER) and the other is driving. The truck stops, the one in the sleeper "stays" in the sleeper. On the 10th hour the one in the sleeper gets up and gets ready. At hour 11 the truck stops, the second driver does a pre-trip, and gets into the driver's seat, drives 10 hours. The first driver gets into the sleeper and 'sleeps' for ten and this recycles it.

You do know you have to log your HOS?

What’s your starting and ending point? You’ll get the 150 mile radius on each end for the livestock so that will make it pretty simple to log. If you’re out west on wide open roads one driver can log 1000 miles or better by themselves.

Assuming you're getting revenue for the transportation of these horses, need to be legal

How often do you have to stop and water and feed and check on the animules ?

legally the driver can’t go over 11 driving hours and you have to take a thirty min break in the first 8 ?
