Just think of the quality of people who can't pass the cdl test.

WTH is wrong with these people? Can none of them read? Do their trucks not have a reverse gear? CDL revokation and possible criminal charges are needed.

Or the medical exam or yes, even the drug test. 1st let me say, on a previous post of similar nature, I appeared to be noncaring about the vintage bridge, I do care about vintage structures,,and was more concerned that the publication called the driver out as a woman. What is clear, is rather than common sense, and good old "stop and look", and process it yourself, these drivers are glued to their GPS or whatever that crap is, and not in touch. Same with pileups. Just about every driver here knows to trust their instincts, but it's entirely possible, for someone lost, unfamiliar and disregards the signs, possibly in a panic mode, just a line on a screen, what's the worst that can happen,,,and this is the result. Don't worry, like the other bridge, it will be repaired, but what's more alarming, is this kind of driving is here to stay. Can't wait for the "self-driving" ones,,:dontknow:

Ok, I’m bored this morning. Based on the screen grab of the news story and the street view images this is probably a time when I’m on @201 ‘s side and agree this should be met with a harsh punishment just for the lack of thinking skills. He came up from the south, and could’ve made a left turn right before the bridge and avoided this disaster he found himself in.

What do you mean, "probably a time",,are we that far apart? 1st, clearly empty or the whole kit and kabootle would be history, and we are just speculating why drivers do such things. Be great to hear "their side",,:biggrin_25520:, I mean, if I was an LEO, I'd have a tough time not laughing my axx off, but I suppose that shows the professionalism. 2nd, you know as well as I do, nothing but a warning, insurance will cover it, and they didn't kill anyone, yet, so off they go now,,,peace brother

We’re not that far apart. I just think that self driving trucks wouldn’t be as dumb as this human driver was. Lol. They will probably have sign recognition built into their AI.

Revoke their citizenship or whatever status they have and send them back to where they came from.

If it’s a citizen, send them to California. SF or LA only. Can’t leave for 10 years.

I believe all these incidents are set up by the ata with hired stunt men to try and bring down the government hammer on smaller companies and push along the driverless narrative to get them legalized and on the road much sooner.
