Been so long I forgot who asked. Bruce Oakley LR pay is http://bruceoakley.com/oakleytrucking/end-dump/ Somebody pays better, go for it but for dumps it's about average. For flats a bit low.

Not sure if you heard, last months orders for new trucks was the second highest ever. This has been going on for a few months. Sounds like the big fleets are planning to cash in on that bull run. That is probably the quickest way to end a 2 year bull run.

You plan on driving for CPM your whole career? You've implied you'll never own a truck. But the reason I ask is, what if your carrier told you, you had to run 3K to get $500 Gross? How would you handle that? You would run those 3K just because you're getting a paycheck?

You're getting 30% of the load and your boss is out here booking loads that pay $1000 on 1500 miles but you're going to run it because the trucks moving and you're getting paid?? Am I hearing this right?

as much as I like math i've never been a mathemetician, Math has never been my specialty so CPM is convinent because I can predict my paychecks

30CPM for 3000 Miles (it was a good week, apparently)

    .3(3000)=900
900-10%=910 (10% is just an estimate)

    I made $900, easily calculated

taking percent is harder to calculate, especially if freight is variable,i've been told its cheaper some places and higher than others.

and here is something to think about

the less money I make the less I pay in taxes, the less likley a girl will take advantage of me and like me for my money (odds of getting a girl are already 0, so I may be wasting time)
