Look I don’t mind being wrong and it looks like I am this time, but it’s not something that would concern me. I know a buuuunch of trucks that are technically illegal and no one has ever bothered them.
3.42 gear ratio

So I guess I'll keep that way.
Something inside of me just keeps telling me any other way is the wrong way.
Guess it's that part of The Bible that says " Even a little yeast, doth leaven the whole thing." -

Depends how fast you want to run. Best MPG will be between 1250-1375. You can find rpm speed calculators on line to input your variables and it will tell you what rpm a particular combination of specs and speed will give you.

Get caught and you will wish you didn't... Who cares if 100 other people got away with it.. All it takes is once.
Roll the dice with your freedom? Why?
Mine has MUCH more value to me instead of trying to claim ignorance... Which isn't a defense of they wanna stick it to you.

A 600 should have plenty of power on 3.42s on highways .... Are you operating under 60 mph most of the time or something? If so, you'd probably want a 3.70 , 3.90 or 4.10 rear like a dump truck.Last edited: Aug 14, 2018

I’ve been running around in semi trucks since 1992. -

Fuel economy? Fuhgetaboutit...lol
I personally wouldn't want anything near that in a road tractor but a dump truck or heavy haul.. yes
My new truck has 3.08s with a 18spd. 1300rpm at 68mph... About 1200@63.
Peak tq @ 1150rpm.
My 2016 Volvo uses 2.64s cause the OD gearing isn't as deep as the 18spd. That gives 1200@68mph. Peak tq @ 1050rpm. -
I went from 5.29's to 3.73's. Might be able to break the 5 mpg mark empty
Oxbow, KB3MMX, stwik and 1 other person Thank this.
