You're hirable as soon as you get a cdl-A.
Where is your location; we need to know the hiring area you live in.
You've had no problems in 5 years, so you're good to go.

Texas, a good state for trucking jobs.
Do you plan to attend a private cdl school or a trucking company cdl school?

I would say contact some insurance companies and ask them. They are the ones wh make the call. Be discreet. Don't give them your real name.

The difference is, if you attend ATDS you'll have several companies to choose from and won't have to sign a contract to work for them.
If you attend a trucking company school, you'll have to sign a contract, usually for 12 mos. obligation to work for the company. The school is free if you stay 12 mos. and if you leave early, you'll owe money for the training.
If you attend ATDS, a few companies will reimburse the tuition back to you on a monthly installment. Not all companies do this, but a few do.

reimburse tho i didnt sign i contract to begin with? sounds far fetched to me.. considering
based from this, trucking company school sounds like the smarter choice. free school and guaranteed job which means experience. switch to better company afterwards.

Apply to a few trucking company schools in Texas and find out if you can get offers. Apply to as many as you want. Most pay for meals and lodging while in their school.
    FFE (Frozen Food Express)
Millis Transfer - need $500.00 for fees.
    Western Dairy Transport - www.wdtmilk.com
    Raider Express
    Stevens Transport
    Roehl Transport - Grand Prairie
Mesilla Valley Transportation - El Paso

Check these out and if you need more names let me know.
