No, I went through a quickie 10 day school and don't recommend anyone doing that these days. I put those pictures on here because that school isn't well known.

 

I would have gotten into hazmat/tankers as soon as possible. That's were the money and good benefits are. Very little work involved; hooking and unhooking hoses is about it. Take home over a thousand a week easily.
I started my career long hauling, running coast to coast. That is my niche. Some drivers want local, but not me.

 

Tanker outfits will put you through their own tanker training and pay you while you're learning.
Usually a week or two of training.
If you go through ATDS, Schneider Bulk will probably hire you if you can pass a hair follicle drug test. They also reimburse tuition up to $7000.00
Talk to a Schneider recruiter and ask if they'll hire you, considering the past misdemeanors.

 

Join a credit union and set up some type of retirement account. Start saving as soon as you start getting paychecks and you'll have an easy life in the future.
Just get in school somewhere and get started. It's a great career.
