Of course we don't know what type of accident he's been charged with (again) so it's hard to say or give good advice. If they were small fender bumps in the yard then of course that's much different than running over a car out on the highway.
I would suggest that you take a good hard long look at your skills and try to find the problem. You may be going too fast or you may have music in your ears when you're trying to do an inspection or any of the little items you need to put away so you can concentrate. Try to find some fault on your part.
Then I don't think you'll stand a chance just filling out applications on line and sending them off. I believe you'd be better if you could go and apply face to face so you can explain your record if it comes up. If you've taken the time to analyze your problem maybe the company will give you a shot. ( YOU'RE SHOWING THEM YOU ARE TRYING TO IMPROVE)I know I would take someone that knows what he's doing over someone that just shrugs his or her shoulders.
Now if you've taken a hard long look at yourself and you're stumped and just can not figure it out then trucking may not be for you. I'm not one to say all accidents are preventable but most are. If you've got a good defensive driving system working for you you're ahead in the game. And you'll know right away what was causing your problems. The whole idea in driving is to learn as you go. There's never a stopping point when you can say you've done it all and there's nothing more to learn. A driver that has been out there for 20 years should know more than a driver than only been out there for a year. I know some will say that they have run into 20 year drivers that don't know their stuff. And without a doubt there are some. But what did that driver look like when he only had a year in!(joke) Some drivers get complacent in lousy jobs and stay there forever. I try to stay away from them. But those are the very few. Get better than the day before and you should do ok. But for now you'll have to hit the bricks. -
