I received a email today from GP Transco that stated they get over 30,000 driver applications annually and hire less than 2%. My question is this normal?, is the application rate vs hiring really that large of a gap? With the endless media drumbeat of a truck driver shortage it would seem impossible to have so many applications and yet hire so few. Is GP Transco an exceptionally run company? This works out to over 865 driver applications per day and only hiring 1 of them every single day.
That is actually a good point, I did not want to come out and say they are lying but it really does make me wonder. Anyone on here work in the hiring departing of a large trucking company please chime in.
And to think, we encounter the top 2%... Tailgating, cutting off, turtle racing, fuel island campers, left lane campers, construction zone speeders, low overhead ignorers, hood removers and the list goes on... I'd like to see what them 98% are capable of!
If that email satisfied the thorough fact-checking process the internet imposes on every email it must be true, my uncle the Nigerian Prince told me so.
