The inventory at Loves has been inconsistent recently, at least for that fresh food island. If I relied on truck stops for fresh food, there would be days that I wouldn't eat very well, or some weeks where I would be eating the same thing day after day.

Lotta good ideas for healthier food while on the road. Gonna follow this thread…

I went from company driver with fridge , microwave, coffee pot, inverter- to buying my own truck. Older, no inverter, no fridge etc. I’m having to rethink a lot of my food options. At some point as $ flows in etc., I’ll invest in an inverter and go from there.

It does not take very long for a fridge and an inverter to pay for themselves , maybe a few weeks
I have a pure sine wave inverter and a cheapo dorm fridge .
A few hundred bucks and your in business
Once a week trip to walmart and now you have one less thing to rely on trucks stops for. When possible , i much prefer to sleep in a rest area and if I have some meat and veg to toss into my instant pot mini, I am all set

    Day 6

A 16 hour day today. Started looking for loads at 0600. Came to an agreement on one at about 0800, went to pick it up about 3 hours away. Showed up and started waiting, and waiting, after about an hour and half they tell me it won't be ready until Wednesday. Call the broker, work out another load that is about the same. Get loaded, strapped, tarped and finally get headed out.

$6800 on 2687 miles, CA to SC. The lowest rate I've headed back east for in months. Plan was to drop this early Friday and pickup a weekend load headed up into the northeast, gross would have been over $10,000 for the week and I'd have a fresh clock on Monday. With all the delays though I don't know if I'll be able to get a load on Friday, guess we will see.

Breakfast was Dennys eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. Had a handful of mixed dried fruit a little later. Not a bad day calorie wise altogether.

One thing that worked great for me on OMAD was switching to an evening meal instead of breakfast. I found it much easier to skip breakfast and just drink coffee until the workday got into full swing.
I would get hungry a few times during the day but my keep the door shut stubbornness would overpower my cravings until I shut down for the day.
At that point I would eat a large but sensible meal and that would hold me until bed.
I have read that systems are more powerful than goals so instead of worrying about losing the weight in a specific period of time, I just made sure I was always losing week over week.

I might try and push my meal back to an early lunch. I dont want to go much beyond that because one of the big benefits of OMAD for me is it helps with GERD/Reflux.

I just looked it up. Healthline.com says 36.5% of Americans are considered obese.
For whatever it may be worth, I'm 5'6", 210lbs. Doctor yelled at me last time I was there about my weight. I didn't think I was too bad, but he said I was obese. But coming from a doctor that is as round as is tall, I don't put much thought into it.

That is a factor I have never considered.
Sounds like you have turned that problem into a source of motivation.
Take note of that, people that can do it have a superpower

I dropped 16lbs in the last two months doing intermittent fasting.
All my meals are home made every weekend and put in glass containers.
I just warm them up every day.

12pm meal, 4pm a roll up sandwich with meat and cheese and then another meal at 8pm.

In the fasting period you can only drink water, plain coffee or tea, with no sweeteners of any kind. Apparently even a 0 calorie sweetener spikes your insulin and you stop burning fat.

The last time when I dropped that much weight I counted calories, weighed my food, only ate chicken breast and all that crap.
This time there is no restriction in food choices, no calorie counting, just normal healthy meals. Love it.

Having a scheduled plan makes things way easier. Your mind comes in peace with the stomach lol
When hungry, just gotta remind yourself that you will be eating in a couple of hours and that makes it easier mentally.

Learned about this stuff watching Hodge twins on YouTube, got convinced, decided to try and it seems to be working well.
