Crashed and burned. I am eating a little better but it's mostly to avoid GERD/Reflux discomfort at night. Might be a couple pounds down at the end of the month but no chance of hitting the 30lbs goal.

I'm pretty bummed about it to be honest. This was going to be my launch point toward a bigger goal that I have to be physically fit to accomplish I've been dreaming about for about a decade now.

beating yourself up isnt going to do much beyond making you even unhappier
How about instead of goals we just work on systems to help you eat better?
Figure out what stuff was working for you when you were on and slowly build those things back into your life

OP, nothing has changed but a couple of weeks have gone by. Just get back on the horse and ride her. It won't be the last time you go off the reservation. It's expected, and no big deal at all.

Give yourself some grace. Keep learning about the body, your body specifically, and how it reacts to changes. Look for when you look towards food as your comfort escape, and address it when you see it. If you need to change your diet to accommodate your physical and psychological makeup, no big deal. You might lose 10 pounds a month rather than 30. No big deal. That's still 100 lbs in a year. Even with several big setbacks.

Having a setback is no big deal. Not getting back on the horse, that's the big deal. You've got this, driver!

You set yourself up for failure with a lofty goal and no plan other than eating one meal a day. You did bad one day with the "diet" one day and said #### it and ate more unhealthy food.

If you are serious about loosing weight pay a dietician or hop on Google and research. Loosing weight is a lifestyle change.

You're not wrong about the crazy diet part. I lost about 100lbs about 7 or 8 years ago. Only took about 6 months but I did it by using a calorie app, changing my eating habits,, and taking up exercise. I was very driven at the time because my dad had died and wanted me to spread his ashes in a remote location only accessible through a 50 mile backpacking trip in the California mountains but that's a different story.
Anyways, like you said, I tried an unusual diet and failed instead of just going back to what has worked for me in the past. Changing my lifestyle to a more healthy one and exercising.

I’m trying like everyone else. Had lost 20 lbs. Felt great! Put it back on. Bellies bigger than ever.I’ve noticed if I wait till my stomachs empty and growling, then eat less portions. Seems to work. Nothing drastic. Just trying to get into that habit. And trying to actually enjoy the feeling of an empty stomach. It can be a good feeling. I’m tired of feeling bloated. When I was young, I was so busy, I only ate when necessary. All these problems like reflex and other digestive problems are a result of overeating. I get reflux when I eat too much, and especially if constipated, add a little dehydration, the wrong food and hello reflux. It all works together somehow. Reflux is caused by overeating, stretching out the top of the stomach. Makes the natural bend straighten out, letting acid come up, worse when digestive tract gets backed up. Almost like having an extra stomach on top of the stomach. It can’t be corrected without surgery. But can be controlled by eating less, staying hydrated, and regular. That’s my goal. A little at a time. Like anything, it’s all about habits. My Own all or nothing attitude isn’t a realistic solution. Has to be gradual changes of habit. I try to tell myself it’s always available if I choose it later. Worked with alcohol, and other substances. I know right where it’s at, if I decide to start again. 35 yrs now, don’t miss it at all.

Even then, you state 100 in 7 or 8 months, your stated goal (30 in a month) is 2x that... to do that, you need to be 2x more motivated or more...

I warned you to go sane, and gradual, failing at an insane goal you set for yourself still FEELS like failure, set your sights on the achievable first.
