30 min break at 8 hours

Looking? If you're trip planning properly, you should know where you're going to take your 30 minute break before you start the truck.

 

According to his profile, he's a student... so I highly doubt that.

 

Your not wrong, you just don't have to take it at 7 1/2, you can drive all the way up to the 8 hr mark. Re read my post above, that is what I wrote.

 

If you're on a time card that means you're within the 100 air-mile radius, you are exempt from having to take the break.

 

As you work and drive in the real world, you'll learn to take the break whenever it's "practical" ... a fuel stop, a parking area that just happens to be convenient to a pu or drop. Just so long as you realize two 15 minute breaks don't equal one 30 minute break. Anytime and every time you stop the truck whether it be for 1 minute or 2 hours, you lose time, burn fuel, and reduce your productivity so it will benefit you to consolidate the break into a stop for other reasons or while already "stopped or slowed", as opposed to stopping just to knock out your 30.

 

Im betting when said INSTRUCTOR is done for the day--He leads the roundtable discussion at the Local Truck Stop........
