30 year old drug charge

Drug trafficking is one of those charges that trucking companies - and their insurance companies - take a really hard look at, because they're afraid the trucks could be used for drug trafficking. The fact that it's only one charge and 30 years old doesn't indicate that it's a pattern of behavior, especially not a pattern of recent behavior, so that will help.

 

The most successful people I have met in trucking....were husband-wife teams.

Obviously -- you need a starter carrier that is team friendly.

The CDL job market is very poor right now -- & hiring is thus very slow in many places, especially for new drivers.

However -- the outlook is somewhat better, for teams.

Over 30 years old with no other convictions. You should be fine. The only issue I see is going into Canada.
