Chinatown, you're a beast at this CDL game. You still drive?
Chinatown Thanks this. -
No, don't have to work anymore. Enjoy travels overseas, mainly to China, Hong Kong, Kowloon, Macao.
Macao is the giant version of Las Vegas, but without the crime.Albertaflatbed, Lonwolv54 and 350Xena Thank this. -
That sounds like an amazing time!
I wanted to thank everyone for the time and input, my husband got his prehire today!! Woohoo! Covenant had the best pet policy for our situation, so extremely thankful it worked out!hotrod1653, Deadwood, Speed_Drums and 2 others Thank this. -
Other married couples that have posted on here and drive for Covenant give good reviews. They haven't posted in a few months, but the posts they did leave were very good.
350Xena Thanks this. -
I've personally spoke with a few couples and have heard nothing but good. My dad has been a trucker for 40+ years and he's always told me I should get my cdl as much as I love driving.
Luckily we have some money saved up so we can relax and soak up some knowledge and get experience while seeing this great country!Albertaflatbed and Chinatown Thank this. -
You might look into Butler Transport out of Kansas City, Ks.. 30 years is a long time. I knew a guy that worked there and he did time with Charles Manson, they are a decent company to start.. he got hired and totally changed his life around.. bought a house, the whole nine.. He was one of the hardest working guys I've ever met in my life.. he overcame more than most ever could comprehend.. you might see if they'll hire teams.. worth a call..350Xena Thanks this.

I bet he had some crazy stories to tell! Some of the best people are forged through adversity and forever strengthened, and some of the best people are those that support them.
Don't know much about Butler. I'll check them out. Covenant is already reaching out about one of their minimum pay accounts. It's a pretty good account pulling doubles. It's a $1500 minimum. If you have hazmat, even if you're not on a special account they have a $850 minimum guarantee. For us that's pretty good money with no experience. Especially starting out in the winter months, I'm sure it'll take a few months for us to find our groove and get relatively comfortable.Chinatown Thanks this. -
He told me a few, but that wasn't the focus LOL!! He was about restarting his life and prison talk was putting him back in the past, I was curious though.. Butler flys under the radar, they are a good company, their freight lanes are good, you can draw a square between Georgia, Arizona, Utah and Pennsylvania, they run that and everything in between..
By all means, go with Covenant if that's best, running doubles is better money. Butler just has the best overall freight lanes for newer drivers.. they'll pay like .45 cpm to start after you get off a trainers truck.. but teams im not sure.. like I said it's worth a call.. no fuel routing or mega crap drivers deal with.. it's a company that'll let you get comfortable and stay a while...my buddy bought his own truck and became an owner op.. All The Best!!Speed_Drums Thanks this. -
Will be checking out Butler and others. Covenant just let us know the drug trafficking was a no go! To be continued!
