Thanks Moose,
The conclusion doesn't say much.
Conclusions: Approximately 14% of LHTDs are at increased risk for injury and death because they do not use a seat belt on every trip. Safety programs and other management interventions, engineering changes, and design changes might increase seat belt use among LHTDs.

I don't know I'm 5'10" too and sit as low as possible for the same reason, when I am in heavy traffic, I might put some air in the seat to get a little better vantage point, but same thing, seat low (not a low rise seat) and back far enough to stretch my legs, been like this since around 97 also. The tall shifters and some of the other things I don't get but to each his own.
The_vett, Long FLD, Crude Truckin' and 2 others Thank this. -
I do have to agree he’s sitting way too low . 32 years. I don’t know about that. Then maybe I’m wrong . He says he went through 20 trucks. I don’t believe that. One lie can lead the multiple lies ha ha ha

Yall do realize that shoulder belts weren't mandated in new trucks till around ‘97 model year. Lots of early 379’s did not have them. Optional only. And seat belts weren't required to be worn in trucks till mid 2000’s. I don’t remember date but remember rolling over scales and dot giving us a heads up on it. We never wore belts. Wasn’t required.

If he’s comfortable like that, then that’s just fine. I have short stumpy Irish legs but a fairly long torso, and a back that flares up every once in a while, and through trial and error have found that I’m most comfortable with the seat raised up so that my feet can just reach the pedals or rest flat on the floor. Any lower and my tailbone starts hurting.
