Come on now bull hauler. I have seen enough of your posts to know that this is not your first rodeo. Seriously though I think you at least know the draw backs. I cross so many scales weighing in and out a loooong truck would be a pain to me. My biggest fear would be trying to weigh on scale having my weight checked on the highway. If it is a truck you really want, you can always shorten it Can you post a picture?
bull hauler Thanks this. -
I have a tri axle 336", with a 50 foot trailer... she's long, one draw back is wind resistance, but not to bad if you watch your speed, it doe's take some getting used to
bull hauler Thanks this. -
I had a cow hauler that wouldn't hire me, he said the truck was too long for the scales, said the customers want you to scale the truck and trailer together when loaded??
bull hauler Thanks this. -
How long is your trailer? Might make all this "fitting on the scale" work out. When I stretch mine 35" I'll be hanging off most scales with my 48' spread. With a 45' trailer it would not be an issue.
i vote "get it" long wheelbase looks goodbull hauler and that65 Thank this. -
Thanks for feedback! u guys helped me get my head on straight, never even thought bout scalin out! My w900 is bout 285 with a 53'spread im barely on scale with truck and trailer as it is now and i hate split weighin
dam! Guess a little bit of billy big riggin was gettin best of me ha, u cant tell its long in this pic but its looooong, 10" stacks ect ect. Not to mention some o these sites gettin in and out of on crappy gravel roads
my mechanic wants 3k to chop it back to 290 or so cuz i want to put a pusher axle on, he said rather than chop it again he would move everything forward and take it off the back

Guess it depends on what you haul. I have a 305 wheel base and have no problem scaling or getting in customers. I pull a 48 step. Puts me a a total lenght of 81.5 feet
bull hauler Thanks this. -
I was talking with a guy about pulling a 50 foot, my truck used to be a wrecker, he said with cattle they want you to be able to scale and not split it up
bull hauler Thanks this. -
I drove one 310 and it was very aggrevating at allot of barns
bull hauler and that65 Thank this. -
Mines 300" with a 53 spread and it's real close but I can fit on most scales. Maneuvering around can be a little aggravating in some tight spots but once you get used to it it's not that bad, although 320" might be a little much, I've loaded at places I wouldn't be able to get in if I was much longer.
that65 and bull hauler Thank this.
