It's pretty simple. If you have 34hrs of uninterrupted off-duty not driving, sleeper berth time, or any combination of the two. Your hrs for the week start back at zero. Most people can't stand 34hrs in the sleeper.:biggrin_25523: You can spend the 34hrs at home, a hotel, your truck or anywhere you want to. You cannot do any driving or on-duty not driving during this time. It is legal and part of the new hours of service rules. Take advantage of it as often as you can.:biggrin_25525:

I am going to attemp to post a sticky thread regarding the Restart, which I have not done yet :(.

This will give you a picture of how the recap should look like when you come back to work. Please keep in mind you should always make sure this way is ok with your company as some are different. I don't understand why they would not accept any of my examples. I do say the RESTART example 1 is the best one to use for DOT to review your recap. Usually they will just go back 34 hours and say ok everything looks fine get out of here (hopefully anyhow)

Always keep in mind DOT does not require drivers to do a recap. You don't have to do it, but I definetly feel you should be keeping track somehow!

Let me know if you need more assistance.
