I just finished putting a new head on my 3406b 4mg. The truck is running well but jakes not working. There is power to the terminal at the head and they are connected inside the covers. I had a helper in the shop while reassembling. I think the jake heads may have gotten switched front for back. I would like to run the truck until I have a chance to get it back to the shop for further investigation, switching jake head position, whatever. Is there a risk of damaging the valve train if they are switched and I continue to run the truck?

Yes they are backwards. Won’t hurt nothing but don’t use them just to be safe.
mile marker 27 and W923 Thank this. -
Possibly the little o ring on the connector pipe is missing….Ive seen that cause them not to work either….still going to have to take things apart to find out
mile marker 27 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the reassurance wore out. I ran it yesterday with perace of mind after seeing your (therapeutic) message. (much appreciated) And yes W923, I'll double check those new orings on the oil connecter pins. We may have clipped them when reassembling.

Ok, so they were flipped front top back. Now I want to adjust them for optimal performance. It is a 4mg55041. should I set the jake contacts at .070 or .080?mile marker 27 Thanks this.

Thanks again wore out. Now I can finish this operation. But first I'll have to plow about a foot of snow out of the driveway. Last week I thought it was springtime!
