Got the 3 seals in but the u-joints(bad) which are the full round style had to be cut out. I tried driving the out but even with heat and penetrating oil, they were a bear. Not much left of them to measure so, how should I measure the yolks? I’m certain all of them are the same size.

I would assume they are the standard 1700 series joints, but Pete should be able to let you know based on VIN.

By the way, Pete must have started to re-use VIN numbers. Your parts guy should ask, but make sure you let them know what year it is when giving your VIN.

The box that you mentioned for the Jakes on the back of the pump - it should be a two pronged affair close to the block on the lower back end of the pump. It will be threaded into the pump with a jam nut to tighten it and hold in place. This also is what controls your low idle. I have seen guys add a Jake switch off of a Cummins on to the throttle linkage that looks like a box, but that is not original. The Cat switch isn't that expensive, and if yours has been changed I would recommend changing back to original.

I can get a picture for you in the morning if you need, and let you know what wire numbers go to that sender/switch.

With your engine vin # I can help with Cat part numbers if you need.

Yes it’s a black rectangular box with two spade terminals. It’s made with a threaded piece that looks like it uses a jam nut and mounts to lower rear of pump. On the old 3406B model that’s blown up in the shop, the switch on it looks like a small round style sending unit, with two spade terminals. I think this B model is older than mine but has no tags on it. Take a pic of yours and I’ll try to get a pic of mine.

Yep, that's it. You have a mechanical tach drive on that one too.

They updated that throttle switch to the bigger one. It’s all that’s available now
