Two bolt cover towards front of the pump on the side, turn key on and that should allow you to move the rack with a screw driver.

    seth Pivarnik Thanks this.

Same spot where the screws are for fuel and torque rise adjustment?

Or do you mean farther up the little cover that you pull when you time it?

It is the cover at the front of pump, it's almost directly below the brass fuel pressure sensor.

seth Pivarnik and Oxbow Thank this.

I'm not sure, just make sure it moves freely.

Important tip when checking for full rack travel: when you move the rack all the way open and it feels like it's hit the end, you should be able to push on it a slight bit more and you'll feel the spring pressing back on you. It's a feel thing, but that's how you know your getting true full rack travel. If it doesn't have that little extra at the end, then something is usually up. Weak spring, out of adjustment, something along those lines.

Are you talking about checking the rack where the adjustment screws are at the back of the pump? Sounds like when your trying to set your screws up based on the springbmethod. And if that's what your talking about. Last time I was in there i didn't feel any spring pressure when I would push down on the screws with the rack held to full throttle but I didn't have the key on either. I didn't realize it needed to be on

Took the cover off the front the rod moves pretty freely as the shut off solenoid rretracts. But after that hardly moves at all maybe a 1/4" of movement with me holdin it at full throttle

I felt that little bit of spring push back like you where talking about very small amount of push back but it is there also rack has 1/4-5/16 of travel like its supposed to. Seems like everything is right in the pump at that aspect. So I'm thinking I'm going to take it to my shop here soo. I'm not sure what else it could be and my local guy is really good so I had just been hoping I could figure it out and save some money

    Oxbow Thanks this.
