Well I did pull a metal tab off like a soda can out of the tank tonight. And my fuel lines are setup so they are pulling from the side/bottom of the tank. Well not the direct bottom of the tank but where the line ties in from the passenger tank. So maybe this is part of the problem

Could be, its def something like that. How is the lag on the turbo? And is the lag the same no matter what?

When its full power its a pretty fast spool up to about 24 psi then climbs slowly. At reduced power its fast to about 10psi then creeps up to 14. If you roll on the throttle fast tho like going down a hill then go to full throttle is fast up to 14-15psi but that's where it stops. These numbers are all with a load as well. So the lag is the same just different levels of boost

Yeah, 24psi is normal, 14 is def low. Either fuel or air issue, only two it could be. See how afrc valve works out then go from there.

Without getting my hands on it to check the advance and really dig into the pump it is hard to say.

There aren't a lot of things that come and go like that, usually if it were a seal in the advance it would change when the oil got warm and not change until it cooled back down.

I am a firm believer in a fuel pressure gauge and even a restriction gauge on the supply line before the transfer pump.

That's what keeps throwing me, there's only a few things that would act up and then go away.

I would think if it was a restriction in fuel line it would make its manifold pressure then splutter out till you let off. Even if it was something covering the fuel pickup tube in tank. As stated without seeing touching feeling it's hard to say. Also as stated in a firm believer in fuel pressure and restriction and pyro for sure.

Yes, usually a fuel restriction will cause the back two cylinders in the pump to starve causing a slight miss on 5 and 6.

Just a thought I would be curious if the missing screw is outside or still in the governor housing. Be surprised how a little thing like that can get places that seem impossible when gravity is supposed to pull everything down

Okay so pulled that tab out of the tank and made no difference. Put the socket on the side with the metal line in the afrc and that didn't make any difference when bobtailing it. Small note though I used a 1/2 socket not 9/16 because the 9/16 did do anything it just slid right over the stem and sat in the back of the cap, didn't add compress the spring at all....
