The little odd shape cover could have a break away aluminum bolt or plastic wire lock going in and out of the cover bolt.Cat claims if the seals are broke they could void warranty but only after the tech checked rack travel with a dial indicator.Turning up the fuel is the easy part but should be done with dial indicator then set air fuel ratio control then advance timing.Sure I have seen no rack screws in the pump too
