Sorry I have a slow scanner and don't have time to scan/upload pics from my manual. You can take apart the AFRC and put it back together with the same parts if you just wanna look at it. Not that complicated. Just don't lose any small o-rings! And make sure to slip the nailhead looking rod back over the forked lever of the servo inside the gov. hsg. when you put it back together.

It helps to have a flashlight and small mirror to see around in that tight area.

If you have a nice parts guy at CAT they can email you pics and diagrams. You can buy a service manual too like I did.

Simple way to block it off without spending any money is to just cut the end of the afc shaft off, this will disable the rack limiter.

if i cut it off. this will make truck smoky smoke ??? even off reving it?

to do this i would just need to pull off complete AFRC and cut it off and reinstall all with same parts?

You'll just cut the end of the rod off, which looks like the head of a nail.

    Yes it will smoke!

i was currenty getting about 5.5 mpg do you think this will chain my overall hwy mileage? will these mods affect idle and fuel consumption?

if i can keep EGTs below 950 will i burn up my engine with these mods, whes pretty healthy as she is just wanted to know. this truck stays intrastate and mostly everything i drive on is flat hardly any hills.

It will depend on how you drive it. At first your mileage will probably drop until you learn to handle the extra HP.

It is no different than the block off plate, both disable the rack limiter.

All the AFRC does is delay the fuel until there is a proper amount of boost for a cleaner burn.

Disabling it just lets you give it too much fuel until the boost catches up which might be 2-3 seconds. It won't affect mpg noticeably.

You could leave the line to the manifold or remove and plug.

I like the extra room you have when the whole AFRC is gone.

how far back do i cut the nail head part off right behind it?or like an inch behind the head?

i saw were the three o-rings go and the large yellow one i also saw were the lil oil plunger goes inside of pump close to block.

so it will smoke at idle when you BLIP the throttle then since there is no boost correct?
