I wouldn't worry about the exhaust but there are 2 sizes of pipes that run from the turbo to the intake. I am not at home to look but I think the 5831 takes the small one the 177148 I am sure takes the larger one. Again I can't be sure till I get close to my parts books. Old age and memory are hell

I have the 7fb motor. Ran the 119 turbo for a lot of yrs. when it first came out I put it on the truck. Good turbo, reliable, but def. a laggy turbo compared to the 148. The solid steel oil lines will need to be changed in order for the 148 to mock up. The 148 spools much much quicker you will like the low end performance a lot. Overall power increase I dunno about that, I put them in the same class there. Just make sure that you have a working accurate pyro gauge as heat may be a issue. I did not have a problem with the switch but a buddy of mine had to re-adjust fuel pump after install.

Area diesel service makes an adapter sleeve P/N 12448 for your crossover pipe to fit outlet of turbo if you have the smaller crossover pipe.

I will look/measure intake tube tomorrow morning. Any idea on part # for the flex oil line part #? When I do this I don't need to be down long. It needs to be down hours not days. Also will exhaust be in same location for the 148 ? Anyone know?

Am I thinking right that the 5831 is the small pipe, I think for a 350 in most apps
