The C's won't make the boost a B will but will make the power. I would get it overhauled and running right before turning the screws in the back of the pump. The pump should be a 7E 5888 on a 3ZJ turning the screws on it won't have the effect as it would on a 7W 3906 pump but will help some. The turbo may look the same but it is a good upgrade for what you are running at about half the price usually. Also liner protrusion is key for a 3406 to live

    Oxbow Thanks this.

It seems you know a bit about the c engine. Can you tell me in there is a difference in the cams from a c peec and c machanical?. We had a c peec that we put a 7e pump and advance on. It ran like a raped ape. I'm curious to know if cat changed anything internal or if it was just the pump and advance.

Apparently word on the street is the 460 peek engine had a real good cam.
It was diffrent then a regular C mechanical cam.
Not sure what the diffrence was but thats what a few guys have said.

Just like the 7fb had a great injection pump. Made more power out of all the B models.

I still have the c peec engine that we changed over. Im curious if it would be worth changing the cam.

Swaan hit it dead on the head. There were two 460hp engines. Both PEEC's. A 5yg B and a 4CK C. Not all were 460's but some were. The Cams are different. There are also some aftermarket cams for low torque available with some research. The forum has some rules about putting posting on this kind of thing so I'm not sure what I can and can't say or if they even care about the old stuff.

If I remember correctly the c peec I had was 425/475 when it was still a peec. Does that sound right. 425 on the pedal and 475 on cruise. It was in a 93 Volvo.

Wore out, the way it was explained to me is, you can talk about parts, not custom ecm tuning.

No, there was no PEEC engine rated over 460hp, nor did they do dual ratings.

Looks can be deceiving, there are multiple turbos that look similar but have different wastegate settings and internals.
