if it's fuel leaking down, you should see the oil level increasing or smell raw fuel in the oil if it gets bad enough
-No water in fuel -No water in oil -No fuel in oil -No fuel in water -No oil in water -No oil in fuel -No coolant loss AT ALL -No odors detected in the fluids -No pressure in the radiator *All fluids are where they should be. *NEW cam sensor installed *Test ECM was placed on with no changes All O-rings & Injectors are out & being gone through. Nothing bad found there yet. Have new O-rings in case... CAT dealer said a boost sensor could do it; but could it make it smoke and miss? When it misses & smokes, the exhaust smells like fuel. NEXT???
My MXS does the same thing until the water temp gets above 150*. I was told by both the local Cat dealer(Ziegler) in Sioux City as well as my local Peterbilt dealer that it is a software issue in the ecm. Mine will shake ,shudder clang and bang and smoke white when it does it. Once it gets above 150* it's fine. No extra oil on the dipstick, water level remains consistent, etc. Very irritating indeed. I too would appreciate any ideas.
We put a test ECM on yesterday & the same things were happening, so on this end it's not an ECM issue ((if this helps you out any...))
if its an acert mine does it also. its the accuaters when the oil is cold its to thick and slowing down the plungers it cant push the cold oil out fast enough through the bleeders. just have to be able to let it warm up enough before you hit the road. its not an ecm software problem, its the nature of the a-cert.
As of today: We found the cam gear is off one whole tooth. Will this cause the whitish/grey smoke & missing out?
i forgot what motor do you have. if its a e-model i doubt it, happened to me once all it did was throw a code still ran alright.
