A few months back i bought 99 T2000 with 3406E. This truck doesnt have coolant filter and i want to add one. Im using extenxed life coolant. Does anyone know part # for good retrofit kit. I heard Cummins makes some but all i could find is some kits for pick up diesel trucks

if you're running cat ELC you don't need a coolant filter. fitting one only adds to the chance of a hose bursting or rubbing through draining the coolant mid trip.Rideandrepair, tj379 and mtoo Thank this.

Anything is better than nothing. I installed all new silicone hoses. So im good with that. I found out that my fuel/water separator uses Donaldson p174766 filter base and some T2000 have same filter base for coolant filter. So Donaldson P174766 with Wix 24070 or Cat 435-5142 filter is better than none

Filters aren’t needed. But if anyone wants one, I highly suggest using shutoff valves on both sides of it, before the hoses. so a leaking hose can be stopped. Also use an on demand supplement filter, as a safety net against corrosion.
