    5ek rebuilt to a 1lw

    Original pump #
    Uanrdo
    139-2359

    New pump#
    20R1524
(Also a 3848611 is exactly the same)

Pic 1 is original fuel pump, note how the inset is flat across

Pic 2 is what you get no matter what 3406e to c15 you look up, note the raised center bit

That raised center seems to interfere somehow with my putting in the pump. It (new pump) stays pushed out the depth of that center stubout (1/4")

What gives? Am i just dumb? Is there some special trick to getting it seated?

    Stumped

That bearing race pointed to in red is whats stopping it, do i just bolt in and push (tighten)?

Since theres some space on the far side (power steering pump)

Looks like the wrong pump but if that is all I could get would put 2 or 3 gaskets on it.

You might try taking a hammer and punch. Lightly tap around the inner and outer bearing races and see if it moves in. That would be good. I would not pound on or force anything.

Nowhere close enough building gaskets, ill try gentle persuasion in the am.

Im a little lost on how everyone from cat to kenworth. The internet at large say the revised pump works but it looks quite different.

It worked, tapped but couldnt tell if it moved, so made a shim and bolted old pump on, applied maybe 3-5 ft lbs and it pushed in no problem. New pump sits flush easily
