Yes, lubed the o-ring.
Also this truck sat for all of Oct, Nov, and most of Dec 2015 and fired right up mid Dec. when I went to move it up to wash it. So if it did lose prime this time for some reason it's a first.
3406E won't fire up.

Crap, I forgot to check that today.
Yes check engine and all the other lights flash on as usual when key is first turned on. -
If you have any holes in the fuel line, loose fuel filters/fittings, or cracked pickup tube in the tank you could be sucking in air.
Luwi67 Thanks this. -
Post one says u got flash code 55 if no power to ECM no flash codes will show at al ?????????
Luwi67 Thanks this. -
Yes, that is what I was told but, it seems everyone else has a 5 amp fuse in the battery box, I have nothing and was wondering if there was an easy way to physically check it with a volt meter.
I do have 2, 5 amp fuse holders right next to the ECM but, they are for the ammeter. I need to find where the protection for the ECM is, or I going to lose sleep. -
There is no way the 5 amp fuses are for the amp meter. They would blow the second the alternator started charging.
Luwi67 Thanks this. -
I'll look into that but, when I pull them, the ammeter stops working.
When I was looking at them today, I put a volt meter to them and they both had 12.8v with the ignition off, which didn't seem right, I would think the ammeter would be switched. Unless there is a relay under the dash that sends the power when ign. is switched.Last edited: Jan 25, 2016

I guess the ammeter could have a relay but why two fuses. Somebody will set us straight. The ammeter won't be switched. Turn on the lights with the key off and the ammeter should show a draw. The needle will move to the left of zero.

All the ecm does is activate the silonoid on the injectors, it doesn't control the fuel pressure. That is on the mechanical side of injectors. No or low fuel pressure will not fill the injector fuel body = not enough fuel to Pop off the injector.all the injector silonoid does is modulate the fuel flow if there isn't enough fuel pressure then it is starving the injectors.Last edited: Jan 25, 2016
wore out Thanks this. -
OK, you have some diagnostics to do here, but nothing too hard. First you need to turn the key on and make sure you have power to the shutoff solenoid. Once that is done, go to the primary filter, and disconnect the line from the inlet to the fuel filter, crank engine and see if you get good fuel flow. Next hook the inlet line back up and remove the outlet line and keep chasing.
I have ran into this before. If you disconnect the fuel line at the filter you know that you either have a bad shut off solenoid or transfer pump, If you have fuel getting to the filter base, but not coming out you have a bad filter base. Yes I have had a few filter bases go bad. This is a really fast and quick and dirty way to find most problems in about 15 minutes. If you are not getting fuel to the transfer pump, than debris in pick up tube. You get the idea.
Good luck.
