When I had the ISX opened up by cummins. I was hoping for 500 or better. But I was told I couldn't go any higher then the rating.
    450/475.

Needless to say. When they were done with the wipe and reload. It was a whole different animal. I was very happy with the max 475.

Thank you! The serial is 06R0711921 Model 6067M(rest is illegible).

Tell me all you can. Thanks!

I just don't understand why Detroit couldn't have two classes of the 12.7, and if you wanted less HP/torque, change it in the ECM. Why go through and have different injectors and turbos?

As I said earlier, it's about staying in that efficiency range.

So yours is an MK28. It has the 8309 cam (which is really good). The difference between it and a 470hp MK60 is the MK60 has a GTA4292 with a 1.28 A/R housing and yours has a GTA4294 with a 1.15 A/R housing. The MK60 also has 7045 injectors and yours has 7099 which is 2 sizes smaller.

Your block was drilled for piston cooling nozzles but they're blocked off...easy to install them by dropping the pan when doing an oil change and they're about $60 for a set. The 8309 cam was used in the last 500hp BKs so you're good there. You could put the 7045 injectors in it for 470/1550 or a set of 7650 injectors for 500/1650. Your turbo will work just fine at that hp.

Without flashing it to a BK calibration it won't be exactly that hp/tq because it's fine tuned for an MK28 but as long as you set your ecm to the highest setting it'll be pretty close.

If that's not enough, you can easily get an aftermarket tune to 580/1850, change turbos, install 7014 injectors. It's a good block...the sky is the limit

According to the serial number it's a 500/1650 BK. It'll easily take 1800tq
