The 359 I picked up back in late winter has been on the back burner for a while, with all my farming a knickknack trucking jobs. I have however got stacks, head lights, bumper, visor, alot of various electrical stuff cleaned up, 5th wheel and stripes painted. It originally had pinstripes but I felt it needed the stripes within. Still lots to be done.
359 gets its stripes

Still gotta put a sleeper boot in it, sand/buff tanks and boxes, replace cab lights. This is a fun truck to drive with the steering tight, shifts smoothly and very responsive throttle. Gonna need some quarter fenders as well. I’m gonna replace the cans with 15” steel that I got from Deerhunter(preciate you) but not sure how hard it’ll be to match the blue. I think, it may have been sovereign blue but maybe it’s too light of shade???? Maybe it is and it’s just old and faded, I’m not sure. Could just paint them black but blue with black and silver pinstripe is what I’m leaning toward.

Looks great! I love the old school round headlights. Next time you get around too it and have some time if you wouldn’t mind taking some pics of the interior. I’d love to see it.
Oxbow Thanks this. -

One thing you can think about if the air filter cans don’t match exactly after you stripe them is paint the fenders black with silver and blue pinstripes. That most likely will help blend it all together.

Really cool project. It's amazing how a few minor details completely change the look.
