What’s it’s vintage? There were 4 different generations of the 359 from ‘67 to ‘87. Pete used the same steps and boxes on all the conventional models throughout that time frame too. So don’t narrow the search to only 359’s. The older style boxes date back to the first 351’s in late 1953.

This 1 is a 81 ..Thanks for that info Small Package ..I been doing alittle grave digging like Deshano suggested.. looks like I'am gonna have to dig deeper

I thought about just getting 1 off a 379 it would fit but then I might as well get the battery box too so they match.. then its back to being kinda costly

I’ve found them over the years in pretty rough shape. The covers take a beating and always have witness marks to proove it. But that is part of the coolness to me anyway. The battery boxes and tool boxes were the same and interchanged from side to side. The later tool boxes had the flip up door and the earlier ones you just unlatched off the whole cover. The covers were the same otherwise. 95% of the battery boxes you will find will need a new bottom. Batteries eat through the lightweight aluminum they used. That is easy enough to fix but it causes some people that can’t fathom that to scrap them instead. Replace bottom and mount it on right side and you have a tool/storage box.

I would be happy if I could find even a rotted out battery box because I would do just like you said .. but I haven't had any luck find one of those even...
