BoxCarKidd, Dino Saur and spsauerland got me thinking coriously on this so I pulled out the dusty book of blue paper Cummins service technical bullitins and found that in Febuary of 1983 (a little after mid year) on the Bc3 the Demand Flow Cooling lubricating oil system was introduced on Bc3’s. This is when the oil psi was lowered to 40 psi and the 2 filter oil cooler and larger steel oil pan became availiable. The new smaller waterpump impeller was installed and they became low flow water cooled at that time.
Than in December of 1984 was full production release of the BC4 Optimized Aftercooling. That is the new unitized after cooler that the op has in his 365 pic.

Things apparently moved pretty quickly through the BC3 to the 4 to make some confusion. At least for me anyway. Thanks guys.

Hoping that one new cylinder kit is all it needs to run again. You can see the heat mark on block at #5. I have all the early BC3 stuff to convert it back to FCC to put it in my 352 Pete cabover.
