This is what I did when I was otr in a T600 with 30 some inch bunk. It really seemed to give me more room and stay IMG_20150611_082611_856.jpg organized much easier.

Should be plenty of room, gained 12" just by finding out it's a 48!
I have the Star Car 54" and run all over (well, west coast to I-35 corridor) and live in it well. As the others, fridge behind the pass. seat, printer/laptop stored on top shelf at head of bed, clothes under the bunk on pass. side, and a little room left over to jog laps if it's raining outside......HA!

You make do without stuff. Lol. I remember 20-25 years ago, that was the standard size sleeper, if you had one. The larger sleepers were rare.

You could free up a lot of space just by asking your company to remove the passenger seat. Do you ever have riders and need it?

I drive a 379 with the single sleeper. I asked my boss about taking the passenger seat out and he didn't even answer me. But as these guys said. Pack light. I bring one small duffel bag that fits 3 changes of clothes. I leave that on the passenger floorboard. I hang my winter coat on the passenger seat. I keep my binder, log book and file organizer on the passenger seat. Shower bag in one of the small cubbies and cooler under the bunk. All my tools go in the drivers side compartment and my emergency triangles in the passenger side compartment. We have Wabatso bunk heaters installed in the passenger side compartment so you can't get much in there. And for getting dressed I'm all of 5'7 with my boots on so I've found if you slide the drivers seat all the way forward before you go to sleep it gives you about 10 to 12 inches of space to move around and get dressed while sitting on ur bunk. And like I said I'm short so I can pretty much stand up behind the drivers seat. Hope this helps some

I found a set of the fiberglass poles for the pop up type tents. I think at gander mountain, I measured the width of the windshield and windshield to the cab above the seats.
I used two for the sides and three for the front.. Had the misses sew up some curtains. Now I can do jumping jacks nekid if I wanted to.
I know it doesn't help you with storage but it will give you more room if you have to spend excessive time in the bunk.

I was thinking of using a shower curtain rod and the expandable shoe cubbys by my feet

I had a truck exactly like the one in the OP'S avatar....thought it might be my old one till I took a close look at the doors. Mine was an '02 with door mounted mirrors.
LOVED that truck.....until I had to live in it for 3 weeks at a time......then got rid of it.....
