If it just started doing this and wasn't before now its probably a bad tire on the drives thats broke a belt inside it. They can do this and not cause the axle to bounce when your looking at it. but it will bounce the truck badly usually worse when bobtailing. when its loaded the trailer weight will hold it down tho the ground harder and it isn't as bad. check the drive tires even if you have to jack it up and put it on stands then you can run through your gears while some one whatches the tires from the side and you can see the one that is all out of wack and causing the problem.

the bounce that i feel does not really make any noise and when getting unloaded and reloaded it is a little diff then when driving down the road its not as bad but still there. it feels like its the cab and sleeper but not really sure. the suspension gauge in dash goes nuts when doing it. Also last night noticed that truck was leaning to one side and frame was also so crawled under again everything looks good still no broken springs, all air bags look good, checked frame rails for cracks or anything but looked good. its the weirdest problem its hard to believe that it can bounce this bad and not be able to find a problem!

the bounce makes no noise other than its cause a little squeaking from doing it for so long and when getting loaded or unloaded it still does it but not near as bad and i cab get out and watch the little air bags on bunk and they do bounce but so does the frame so its hard to tell where its actually coming from. as for what kind of bounce it is it is kinda hard to explain its not like a long bounce like a car with bad struts its a rapid fast bounce like picture a diving board after somebody jumps off it. I dont feel it when the front axle goes over a bump just when the drives go over then its gone for a sec and does it again when trl axles go over. if im on a smooth road all day wont have a prob but if on rougher ones it makes for a long day hope this explains it a little better for ya.

Anybody check your cab bushings? Also mine was bouncing badly from a bad alignment. Not so much the toe-in( still rolls straight ), but the caster being off will cause your front springs to flex incorrectly. Could do it sitting still, too. Just a thought.

Have you had your 5th wheel checked/adjusted? If its out of adjustment it would be more of a front to back motion, but if the bushings are worn out or seized up it will allow the front of the trailer to move up and down. Next time they are loading or unloading you watch the pivot on the 5th wheel there should be no up and down movement in the bushing.Or if you are bobtail and your release handle is on the side try to lift the 5th wheel up by the handle, if you can move it at all (up and down, not pivot) the bushings are bad,if it won't pivot they are seized, either way they need replaced.

thanks for trying to help guys have had it at peterbilt for 2 days now and they found nothing really that they could say was causing it to ride bad. they found 1 susp bushings with a little play and a frnt spring bushing moving a tad but other than that everything pretty tight. As far as the alignment didn have that checked cause they said should have nothing to do really with the ride. we did find that the driver side of the frame is sitting 1/2 in lower than pass side but only from 5th wheel back? so finally they just gave up and said nothing more to do so i guess im gonna take it to a frame shop and have it checked to c if frame somehow got teaked.

wonder if someone swapped out an air bag or two with aftermarket (could be alittle different size).

I have a 93 Pete 378 and it does the same exact thing its driving me nuts. When i am loaded it does it alot more especially if i hit a bump. It also does it when i am bobtailing. I notice it does it alot more when i hit a bump on the road and i have to brake or accelerate to slow the bounce. Even though sometimes braking or accelerating makes it worse. Let me know if you find a solution. Thanks.
