    Hello everyone!!!
I had 379 for 4 years now and its time to get brand new one. Of course 389 has waaay better ride and look.
But 579 may get better MPG and its more roomy inside. Fuel mileage is important for me. I am kinda tired of getting 5.5 on average with CAT. Your thoughts guys? Maybe there is someone who s driven both 389 and 579?
PS Never had any experience with ether Cummins or Paccar engines.
    Thanks

Paccar parts only bought in kw/pete dealers and cummins can be found anywhere.

    There's no replacement for displacement.

Yeah, I've heard that Cummins is better, but a friend of mine has the Paccar motor and he's doing real good with fuel economy pulling an end dump. Ive got a Cummins in everything own. I believe they are all decent if you maintain them.

    207nomad and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

I'm averaging about 8 or slightly better with my ISX, running 58 to 62. That includes lots of hills, and some WTF traffic. I think wind is the biggest killer, along with traffic. Now my ISX does not like traffic. It has to breathe.

That's good. We've got a couple T660s and I can't get them to get any mileage. Has to do with the boys running 70 to 75. What you gonna do?

That would be about 1600 to 1800 RPM with my gearing.

I can't remember, I haven't driven one of them since January. 10 sp, 336 rears and lo-pro 22.5. They are set up right as long as you keep your door out of it

Is there any reason you have to trade? You can always get a write off by spending money on it or buying a new trailer, Delete the emissions and keep on trucking. A little tax is cheaper than a new truck note

Mine has 3.58 rears. So your boys definitely got their foot in it. First one to the back up wins.
