Have you considered states with no state income taxes?

 

I like South Dakota, but some cold weather in the winter.
I've lived in Tennessee, Florida, Texas, Nevada; all no state income tax states.
Nevada is about as good as it gets, from my experience. Yeah, it's in the desert and hot, but the humidity is so low, the heat is not a problem. No roaches, from my experience and no mosquitos. No taxes on food at the grocery stores either.

Right now it's 8:00 PM here and still daylight. Plenty of daylight in Spring/Summer/Early Fall.

 

Reno is pretty good also, but get some snow in the winter. Trucking isn't too bad there either.
