3 days orientation at $120, then 4 to 6 weeks with a trainer. If I pass, I will be out a minimum of 5 weeks.

    Yes, I am near Troy.

Sorry about the 'if,' but I have already failed two other times, so my confidence levels aren't at their highest. I will do my best, so we'll see how it goes.

Hey On the Fence, you really need to forget about the past. You know what went wrong try not to make that mistake again.

You know they say that quarterbacks have to have a short memory after they throw an interception. It's kinda like that in trucking....learn from the mistake BUT DON"T DWELL ON IT!!!! Saying things like "if I pass" are gonna make you more nervous than you were before....shake it off driver other wise you may not pass and then what??

Seriously lighten up on the past mistakes and move forward...good luck to ya , have fun and be safe

I have feeling you will do just fine. It might pay to be totally open and honest when you get to USA. I would speak to the safety director prior to your road test and tell him you were primarily trained on an auto. Maybe they could make some concessions. I do know they have some automatics or maybe they could make sure you get one of the lead OTR trainers......every training company has them, but they tend to reserve them for students that fail their first attempt at their upgrade. Let them know you’re dedicated and want to be a success and that you have a family depending on you. If I was a member of management in this company, I would rather hire and spend some extra time with someone with attitude like this, verse someone who is there because their unemployment is ending, and they are being forced to just try something.

    Hey Rocknroll,

I grew up near you in Columbus. I spent many late nights at the bowling alley by you! Is that place still around? I saw Cheap Trick there when I was like 14....cant believe that was over 30 years ago!
