It’s a free country you can do anything you want. How much bank account and how many debts do you have ???? How mad are you about this are you ??? I have to admit I’m the opposite of most drivers on here , my brokers were very good to me and always took care of me on stuff like this but some drivers can’t be made happy no matter what. They are just angry unhappy people. Worst case DONT DELIVER it at all. Say that you kept your end of the bargain. So now you will deliver the load to a storage facility where you will deliver the load safe and sound under lock and key and the broker and the receiver will be put on the storage facility bill of lading so they will be able to accesss there freight any time they would like. Go and get your freight I’m done and out of it. Only need to tack on an extra $1500 for an altered delivery fee for not being able to take delivery when promised.

Rock and a hard place ?????

Not running under your own authority.

Not in a position financially to sit for 3-4 days.

How about becoming a company driver until you get your finances back into a better position ???

Gots to love them appointments, that only mean something when you miss one. lol
there is a good chance that since you missed the appointment time, there will not be any detention paid to the broker, depending on what kind of deal he has with them, so taking what ever he offers may be the best way out financially for you.

I have only had this happen once and I knew when I got the bills the appointments were not even remotely possible, four drops on that load, so when I called on the last one and tried to get a later appointment time and they told me it would be the next day, I told them I would just unload at the third one and hey could get it there anyway they wanted too. lol
they came around to my way of thinking.
Another time I delivered a load of paper and the place was on a maintenance shutdown, they told me it would be a week before they could unload. I was on time for my appointment, and only 200 miles from home. I told them what my vacation was going to cost and they found a warehouse just a couple of blocks away. lol
I lucked out on mine, but wrote both companies off my list of those to haul for anyway.

I had a situation like that once as a company driver.

The next to last and last stop were on the same street in the overall industrial park.

Last stop ranted that it will be a week to get my load since the previous stops ruined their appt times due tow waiting, no fault of my own.

I simply told last stop their 7 pallets will be in dock such and such. Clearly marked for them. They can come get it whenever.

They exploded. Not the normal bad words but actual blow up your home burn your family alive and so on kind of mean.

All of that for a load of DVD's, music and some books and magazines.

People who burn out too hard over those fluffy feel good things in life really need to lighten up. Im pretty sure they will still have some of those pallets unsold a few weeks later.

Nightmares. If at all possible, I will always avoid multi-stop loads, and take less paying loads. Especially near holidays.
