    Ratchet. Slow and steady is the way to go. I do not even carry snap binders (gave them all away, see below), and have yet to have a load that couldn't be safely secured with my ratchet binders.
    Yes, I have the scars to prove it. 20 micro stitches and a fractured skull.
    Supposed to have wire/chain wrapped around it to make sure it doesn't unsnap.
    Not a clue, dont haul them.

    if its chained down correctly the compression is already gone for the most part.
