Thank you everyone for the replies, I'm in Jacksonville nc. Planning on moving back to ny in Jan I just need Something for now, was hoping I could get with a company that I could transfer with. But it is what it is, the school wanted a hiring letter due to my record so that explains that. I have a guy from a scrap yard I'm waiting on to call me back but I need other options. Cause who knows if that'll work and I don't have time to wait around. Im going to call this cement hauling company and towing business tomorrow.

Big Don and Chinatown Thank this.

I'll do anything, as long as I'm paid well. Before the corps I worked construction 65-75 hours a week so I'm no stranger to working. But I figure the pay is better with a cdl and it's less taxing on the body. And I need expirience so I have some phone calls to make tomorrow and hopefully something will work out.

    Thank you for your service...

Just apply at any and all companies... With your DUI 4 years old, and your 4 years in the service someone will hire you, without a doubt... Might take a little extra work but nothing you cant handle... Good luck brother

Ever think of movers? Depending on the company they usually pay better than freight.

Always a good idea to ask such questions before the fact.
Will the DUI affect your job prospects? Yes. Will it make it impossible? No.

Depends on what you do. School bus drivers have CDLs, and that doesn't really pay for ####. CDOT started this 'Bustang' program, and the contractor pays their drivers $14hr, which really isn't ####. And not all CDL jobs are just sitting behind the wheel all day, either. I've had more than a couple where I labored as much as the laborers and simply had to drive to the site at the beginning of the day and back at the end of the day.

If around the Concord area a few beverage companies are hiring.. Close to the Concord Airport. Also Amazon has a big warehouse there..

Interesting how post 17 ties in with post 16! So what do you want to do, be a worker who happens to drive some, or be a driver who happens to do physical labor some.
