Can anyone tell me the proper procedure to remove slack from the idler gear on a 435 isx (No scissor gears). Only one it says to insert the .010 feelers, then move the gear to the left, but I'm curious how it moves? Does it have an eccentric mount that turns? Or like a t-slot the bolt slides in?

Also do you have to wedge the cams so they don't move first, or just bar the engine over till the gears are in a free spot?

Gear is held in place by bolts, when loosened gear can slide around.
Wedge cam and pin crank. Insert feeler gauge between idler and other gears on both sides and hold the slack out. Then tighten the bolts to lock the gear in place.
