I run linehaul on ELOGS. Laid over three times this week on my ten out of state . I ran : SLC-DEN . 1100 miles. SLC- TFM Montana . 830 miles. SLC-Grt Falls MT. 1200 miles. SLC-Carlin NV. 550 miles. And now getting ready to head out to Vegas. I have 16 hours left on my 70 and it’s 7.5 each way . After Vegas and back that’s another 830 miles . These are all my RT miles . I think something is afoot at the Circle K...

    65. All at night and no city traffic . I pull triples so I drag a bit up the hills . I’ll be lucky to have half an hour left on my eighth day though when I get back tomorrow from Vegas

You must shut that door and not slow down for much, much less stop, I guess you can do that when you're going 800 miles in one direction and I'm guessing sticking to interstates pretty much all the time.

The math still doesn’t quite add up. My trucks are fueled for me at the yard so I don’t have any on duty time there and my inspections are less than five minutes. It’s four or 500 miles plus in each direction and I log off duty personal conveyance between the hotel and the yards. Still there is no way to get that many miles in and 70 hours, maybe more like 75 hours on average of 60 mph. I was running short on hours on my last Montana run and I called Dispatch and he told me he would fix my hours whatever that means LOL. We use handheld Omni tracks and I got a carrier edit the next day , I just accepted all of the edits without looking at them. Probably waved the magic wand . I don’t track my hours as close as I should, I just logged off when I get to terminal. I’m on the extra board so I go whenever they call me, usually around 830 at night when I get back in the morning . I take off again at about 10 o’clock at night. After a 10 to 12 hour break

In order to do 4500 miles in 70 hrs you have to average 64.285 mph... That's with zero on duty time... This could be possible if one had a truck that could do the speed limit on any of the interstates... If you didn't have a lot of traffic and did only very quick pre trips as only on duty time.

I Have ran as much as 4100 miles in 70 hours in 7 days... With about 15 to 20 min on duty each day for pre trip and fuel... In a truck limited at 67 mph. And I went through Omaha on i80, des moine on i80, Chicago land on i80 and i65, cincinatti on i275, st. Louis on i64 and i70, Kansas city on i70, Denver on i70, salt lake on i80 and i15... Started and ended in Idaho.

When I was driving, I used to love running out west. You could put some miles behind you out there, Legally! Thats the best time to have an Elog.

I have a problem with the OP's claim of 4500 miles.

Wife and I were a team and we would do Los Angeles to Avenel and back in a bit under 66 hours with a 63 mph truck stopping only 15 minutes per 24 to 30 hours to fill 300+ gallons of fuel.

If I remember right the mileage for that one way is around 2600ish and 5200 round trip. If you used 40 until roughly 81 on in. I say roughly because 81 turns into 78 past Harrisburg and then 287 for US 1.

You are running flat out against 63 all the way, toilet in the sleeper, cooking going on in dutch ovens or skillet on cab floor with one of us and stopping for nothing except fuel and when absolutely commanded by scales and only for a moment.

I have referred to this run with FFE many times, they had us do this for a period of 7 weeks or so. Until one day spouse failed to comply with my commands and almost got her self really bad hurt or killed with that power jack while loading. Unfortunately when I roar the whole block can hear me. So that was that right quick.

With today's ELD you are not going to turn in 4500 miles with a 65 mph truck. 55mph average comes up 82 hours needed to run 4500 miles. I don't know enough about maf to get the actual average real world over 60 minutes versus a 65 mph governor. I need Wisconson for that. Stop watch, ledger pad and add up the number of seconds for 60 minutes worth of mile markers. It should come out to about 58 give or take three at 65 max.

If you had a 85 mph truck able to get up and run in 75-85 mph states which much of the USA is... you might be able to do 4500 in 70 hours.

This is strictly a team type situation doing 4500 in less than 7 days. We were doing 5200 in 6 days and change round trip. Pay miles came out to about 2400 or so one way. 4800 total, around .42 to me and .30 to co driver in her first year. .72 to the truck. Roughly grossing 3400 for the week.

Reading this just makes me tired. I ran 1,700 miles this week in 4 days and couldn't wait to get home to rest up.

A solo running that many miles in a week? No way. Each run is at least a two day run for a solo. The 1200 mile run is potentially a 3 day run. Then you're running the steep hills out west? I could see maybe 3500 in a week, and that's even a stretch on elogs.
