Tridems are legal in all US jurisdictions, weight allowed on the group ranges from 42,000 lbs to 45,000 lbs, depending on total axle spread (8' 10' 12') US Federal Bridge Law applies, which mandates these weights. But most states are still locked into the 80,000 max gross on reducable (non-permit) loads. But
many Western states have much higher allowable gross weights, some require additional annual permits on the power unit, all that allow higher grosses require the weights to show on your cab card. (IRP registration)
