    The weight difference between dt40-170 an dt46-170 is only 50 pounds. The weight savings is in the frame/suspension requirements.

    Those are 46k rears in 7/16" housings. Whoever spec ed that truck was skirting gvw/frame/suspension requirements to get heavy rear ends
