38000 rears is what the suspension is rated at its probably what they call flex air its not heavyhaul setup flex air in my opinion isnt a good sturdy suspension. the rearhousings ar rated at 40000 lb but suspension is only 38000 lb
rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
That's what I was trying to say....how could it weigh 48k with a wagon on it you couldn't haul more than 20kHEAVY DUDE Thanks this.

the 82 was the old modular studio sleeper.

Doesn't Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) refer to the amount of weight the vehicle can gross (tare+load), not how much it weighs?
How much it weighs is "Tare" isn't it?
I'm just starting out, so please correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like there's some confusion with these terms in this thread.Last edited: Jan 10, 2011

its what the axles are rated for the GVWR that particular trucks tare weight is around 20500 to 21000 lbs.
-
lets see if we can get this straight. first of all, the weight of the truck ISN'T posted. It says 36k rears and 12k front axle. that comes to 48k, that is what the truck is rated to have on it, Period.
I believe the daylight doors were an option cause, I also just looked at an 03' that had the old style too. It was probably standard in 06'. If they made an 82", I never heard of it. 72" and 86" is all I've ever seen. they usually wouldn't have just a 4" difference -
You can order a W9 with a one piece or two piece windshield... daylite doors or vent window doors...mix and match, too IIRC...
