You are legal. I pull my 48' spread in Cali constantly.
Offroadjack and snowwy Thank this. -
thanks I was almost sure I was good but I thought I better double check. that's the last state I want to screw up in.
the last time in that state in my younger years. I left with 1800 dollars of tickets in 10 miles. -
Just be aware that CA has some 65' length roads that you are likely too long to travel on. Hwy 101 north of ukiah is one of those - so no lumber from Eureka!
Offroadjack Thanks this. -
youre iligal in Canada with spread, but California is picky about distance from pin to trailer axle
-
No kingpin restrictions on a 48 ft trailer

Exactly. But as mentioned, you are Illegal in WESTERN Canada. Eastern has some different rules.

I doubt he will be taking any "shortcuts" through Canada while driving around in California. Banning isn't that scary is it?
snowwy, Chewy352, BeN DaViS and 1 other person Thank this. -
You're actually legal north of Ukiah, all the way to Piercy. And you're only illegal if they catch you. But you high dollar guys don't want to come up here & haul our cheap lumber loads anyway.kona911 Thanks this.
