Outstanding, good to hear. Am I the only one that pre-tripped my wife when I got home after getting my CDL? She wasn't amused when I told her she was tight and secured, not cracked or broken lol.

@Dgde4x4man any updates on how it's going? Your thread has me curious. Its good to see somebody trying to better themselves!

In 2003 when I was learning I did the craziest thing.

The trip was from Lansing MI to New Buffalo MI every day for class because I still had to work. I was allowed to put my camper on site and sleep there. My idea was to use an old pop can and then write down RPM and speed for a shift. The little old 2.2L s10 pulling the camper ended up being my savior. I put the pop can in the cup holder and the entire trip there and back would use it like a shifter and fake the double clutch.

When I took the road test I didn't miss a single gear, didn't grind, didn't over rev or hit any curbs. The state examiner asked if I had driven before and I though I had used a twin stick Mac on a farm Id never gone over 25 and it was nothing like the 10 speed eaton fuller at all so I said no. She was very impressed.

I used that truck for the pre-trip as well and would spend an hour walking around it before bed practicing and somehow I passed that with 1 point although I don't remember what that was for now.
