I always preferred to haul the 3x3's on my flat when possible. 6 stacks of 9 fit just right on a 48 ft. flat without having to worry about getting some turned crossways on the top or bottom of a step to get the same amount on. I have hauled a lot like that on my step because sometimes that was the only trl. available.
One guy I bought from in Indiana could load it sideways on the top deck without a problem but one I bought from in Ky. did good to get it on with 2 tractors.
